Birçok yazılım firmasının olduğu gibi Adobe’un da yazılımları için çeşitli kodları bulunuyor. Örneğin bir önceki versiyon Photoshop’un kodu Space Monkey (Uzay Maymunu) idi. Yeni versiyonun kod adı ise Red Pill yani Kırmızı Hap.CS3 ile ilgili dikkat çeken ilk şey Photoshop logosunun değişmesi. Yazılımlar arasında geçiş yaparken ve program açılırken karşımıza çıkan logo mavi bir ekran üzerinde P ve S harflerinin yanyana konulmuş hali. Yazılımı açtığımda ise ilk dikkatimi çeken şey toparlanmış bir arayüz oldu. Artık bütün menüler yanlarındaki oklara tıklandığında küçülebiliyorlar. Hatta Tool yani Araç menüsü bile isterseniz tek satır halinde uzun bir şekle bürünebiliyor. Böylece ekranda fazla yer kaplamıyor. Bu küçük ama faydalı özellik ile çalışma alanınızı büyütebiliyorsunuz (ki ben de menülerin çalışma alanında çok ayak altında durmasını sevmem). Çalışma alanındaki menüler küçüldüğünde ise simge olarak görünüyorlar ve yanlarında isimleri de beliriyor. Tek tek açabildiğiniz gibi isterseniz grup olarak da menüleri değiştiebiliyorsunuz. İlk bakışta üst menülerde fazla bir farklılık yokmuş gibi görünüyor. Hatta PS2 ile aynı olduğunu söylemek isterim. Ancak içlerinde biraz dolaşınca yeni yeni fonksiyonları görmeye başlıyorsunuz.
